Document Scanning on Tuesdays

E-mail Print PDF

The Brighton Area Historical Society has a large archive of historical data dating back to the 19th century.  One of our goals is convert all archives to digital format to ensure that we have a lasting record of historical data.  Also, by converting our archives to digital format, we can make them accessable to the public via our web site.  Having an online searchable archive will be of great value to our community for the purposes of research, geneology, and education.

In an effort to create a digital archive, we are busy scaning photos, letters, wills, deeds, and pretty much anything else from Brighton's past.  This is a labor intensive task and we are looking for volunteers.  If you are intrested in volunteering, we could use your help.  If you have a scanner and would like to volunteer, please let us now.  Even if you don't know computers or own a scanner, you can still help out.

Starting 04-May-2009, we will be doing document scaning every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  If you are able and interested in helping out, please contact us.
