Let’s Deal Some History!

A special collector’s edition of new “Then & Now” historical Brighton playing cards will be available FREE from downtown restaurants and retail stores. Each card has a unique old Brighton photo of an early downtown building. Learn the history of the building by reading the short narrative that includes a description of the building with its address and the current business operating there. The name of the present day business is also printed across the top of each card.

Each restaurant and retail store featured on the playing card will give one free card that showcases their business to each visitor that enters their establishment.

A small number of cards feature Brighton’s historical buildings where no retail or restaurants exist today. These cards plus the two jokers will be included in a special starter pack. The starter pack will also include a card box for storing the deck and a map highlighting the various Main Street and the adjacent Grand River Avenue businesses seen on the cards. The box cover has a classic photo of the 1935 Old Town Hall. One starter pack per guest can be received by visiting 2 Dandelions Bookstore at 428 W. Main Street (Tuesday—Saturday 10—8, Sunday 12—5, Monday closed).

You can collect your deck of cards starting August 6. Learn cool facts and view old images of Brighton! Sign up at 2 Dandelions for the gift certificate participation awards.
